Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This privacy policy explains how Skilldrill Pro Private Limited processes personal data when you use the Kolvi app and the website kolvi.app. Kolvi is a food journal: you log what you eat, and the app shows your calories, nutrients and water and can build a meal plan for you. We collect only what the app needs to do this, and we never sell your data.

1. Controller and contact

The controller responsible for your data is:

Skilldrill Pro Private Limited
Plot No 30/c, Sy. No 83/1, Knowledge City
Raidurg, HITEC City
Hyderabad, Telangana 500081, India
CIN: U62011TS2026PTC214569
Email: support@kolvi.app

For any question about this policy or your data, write to support@kolvi.app.

2. Data we process

2.1 Using Kolvi without an account

You can use Kolvi without signing in. Your food log, body details and plan are then stored only on your phone and are not sent to us. When you sign in, this data is uploaded to your account so it is backed up and can be restored on a new phone.

2.2 Your account

When you sign in with Google or Apple (or with your email address), we receive your email address and a user ID from that service. We use them to identify your account and keep your data in sync.

2.3 Food log, body and goal details

We process the foods you log (name, amount, meal, time, and the nutrients and water they contain), the foods and portion sizes you add yourself, and the details you give for your targets and plan: age, sex, height, weight, weigh-ins, goal, diet style, optional waist and body fat, and safety answers such as pregnancy. We use them to show your daily and weekly intake, to work out your targets and plan, and to apply our safety rules (no plans for under-18s or during pregnancy, a safe calorie minimum and a safe rate of weight change). This counts as health data under many privacy laws; we use it only to provide Kolvi to you, and never for advertising.

2.4 Voice input

When you speak to Kolvi, your phone's own speech service (from Apple or Google) converts your voice to text, under their privacy terms. Kolvi receives only the text. We never record or store your voice.

2.5 Barcodes and nutrition labels

When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to our server, which looks it up in Open Food Facts. Nothing about you is sent to Open Food Facts. Photos of nutrition labels are read on your phone and are not uploaded; only the values you save are kept.

2.6 Unrecognised foods and limits against misuse

If Kolvi does not recognise a food you mention, we record only the food name, not who said it, so we can add the food later. Barcode lookups and these counts also work without an account, so the app sends a random install code with these two requests only. The code is created by the app, is not an advertising ID and is not linked to your account. Our server keeps only a scrambled form of it (or of your network address, if the code is missing) to count each phone once and to limit how many requests one phone can make; these counters are cleared within a day.

2.7 Ad-free subscription

If you buy the Ad-free plan, we receive whether it is active and when it renews. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.

2.8 Steps and reminders

If you turn on steps, they are counted by your phone's motion sensor and stay on your phone. Reminders are created on your phone; nothing about them is sent to us.

2.9 Crash reports

If the app crashes, it sends a crash report to Sentry: the error, where in the app it happened, and your phone model and system version. Crash reports never include your account, email, foods, weight or other health data.

3. Advertising

Kolvi shows a small number of ads, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob receives your device's advertising ID, your approximate location (derived from your network address) and basic app and device information. It never receives your food log, weight, body details, goals, diet or any other health data.

Ads are personalised (based on your activity in other apps and websites) only if you allow it. In the EU and UK we ask for your consent first; on iPhone, Apple asks whether Kolvi may track you; and everywhere you can turn personalised ads off in Me > Personalised ads. If you turn them off, you still see ads, but they are not based on your activity elsewhere. The Ad-free plan removes ads completely.

4. Service providers

We share data only with the service providers that help us run Kolvi, and only what each one needs. They process it on our behalf and under their own security and privacy obligations.

5. International transfers

Your account data is stored with Supabase on servers in the United States. For users in the EU and UK, these transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses agreed with our providers.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. Database access rules ensure that only you can read your own records, and our staff access data only when needed to provide support or fix a problem.

7. Legal bases (EU and UK)

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app at any time (see Delete account); we then delete your data within 30 days, including from backups.

9. Your rights

You can request access to your data, a copy of it, its correction or deletion, or object to how we use it. Email support@kolvi.app and we will respond within 30 days.

In the EU or UK, you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In India, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have these rights too, including the right to opt out of the "sharing" of personal data for targeted advertising: turn off Me > Personalised ads. We never sell personal data, and we never share health data for advertising.

10. Children

Kolvi is intended for users aged 16 and over. Meal plans are available only to users aged 18 and over.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app first.
